The CD is proof of the high musical quality of the orchestra and the successful 2021 summer tour, which took them to Berlin, Cologne and Osnabrück, among other places, together with conductor Elias Grandy. On the program: Ludwig van Beethoven's Leonore Overture No. 3 and Antonín Dvořák's popular Ninth, the symphony “From the New World”.

Bundesjugendchor - German Youth Choir
DEBUT CD: WALDESLUST

A musical foray through the undergrowth. Compositions for choir a cappella

Under the direction of Anne Kohler, the Federal Youth Choir traces the forest and nature musically and presents its first CD with this project. The CD features works composed especially for the Federal Youth Choir, such as “Ode to the Sawdust” by Jan Kopp and “waldeslust” by the young composer Elisabeth Fußeder, who sings in the Federal Youth Choir herself. There will also be compositions for mixed choir a cappella by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Robert Schumann, Max Reger, Maurice Ravel and Raymond Murray Schafer, among others. The Federal Youth Choir interprets the compositions at the highest musical level, describing the forest not only as a place of silence and longing, but also as a mysterious place of magic with wolves, singing stones and clear water or as a metaphor for the human conscience and its vulnerability.
