PopCamp 2025 – das sind die fünf Artists im 21. Jahrgang

Sie wollen mehr – und werden es bekommen. 127 Nominierungen sind dieses Jahr für das PopCamp 2025 eingegangen. Daraus wurden in zwei Runden nun fünf Artists ausgewählt, die ein Jahr im PopCamp des Deutschen Musikrats gefördert werden. Die Förderung umfasst individuelle und bedarfsgerechte Coachings in Begleitung eines renommierten Dozent:innenteams aus den Segmenten Business & Creative. Es geht um Songwriting, Arrangement, Producing, Performance und vieles mehr. Zudem erhalten die Musiker:innen Einblick in die Strukturen der Musikbranche. Folgende Artists werden 2025 im PopCamp gefördert:

CECI // Feel Good Indie Pop aus Augsburg

elimako // Deutscher Indie-Pop mit Hip-Hop Einflüssen aus Passau

LILA SOVIA // Hip Hop/Rap aus Hamburg

VANDALISBIN // Indie-Pop/Rock mit Jazz + Punkeinflüssen aus München

YETUNDEY // Rap/Hiphop/Pop aus Berlin

Die Artists wurden von einer vierköpfigen Jury unter dem Vorsitz von Prof. Udo Dahmen (Vizepräsident Deutscher Musikrat e.V.) ausgewählt. Zur Jury gehörten Cymin Samawatie (Musikerin und Orchesterleiterin), Sandra Kloska (Coach für Kommunikation und Medientraining), Wanja Bierbaum (Produzent und Songwriter) und Jens Eckhoff (Künstl. Leiter PopCamp, Musiker und Produzent).

Entscheidend für die Wahl der Jury waren Kriterien wie Originalität, Entwicklungspotential und künstlerische Umsetzung. Jens Eckhoff sagt: „Wir freuen uns sehr über den Jahrgang 2025. Musikalisch von Rap über melancholischem Pop zu Jazz-beeinflusstem Indie ist das Feld unserer diesjährigen Teilnehmenden sehr bunt und vielfältig. Zugleich sind wir mit unserer Auswahl der Überzeugung, dass jeder ausgewählte Act eine Facette unseres (zum Glück immer noch!!) diversen aktuellen Zeitgeists widerspiegelt und damit eine relevante Rolle in der deutschen Musiklandschaft spielen wird. Ich freue mich sehr auf die Arbeit mit diesen tollen Artists in den beiden Arbeitsphasen und darüber hinaus und begrüße ich sie sehr herzlich in der PopCamp-Familie.“

Die fünf Künstler:innenprojekte erhalten zwei je einwöchige Arbeitsphasen im August und November 2025. Im April 2026 werden sie dann beim PopCamp Showcase im Rahmen des c/o pop Festivals in Köln auf der Bühne stehen. Nähere Informationen auf der Homepage des PopCamp.

Musicians can sing or play in the ensembles of the German Music Council, the Federal Youth Orchestra, the Federal Jazz Orchestra and the Federal Youth Choir, and take part in competitions. With four other projects in the area of promotion, the German Music Council supports young, highly talented musicians, conductors, composers and interpreters of contemporary music as well as pop musicians on their way to a professional musical life and builds a bridge between musicians, organizers and the public. In addition, the German Music Information Center (miz) offers a central information point on all topics of musical life.

 

 

The German Music Council is the sponsor of the competitions for children and young people: Jugend musiziert and Jugend jazzt, the competitions for professional musicians: the German Music Competition, the German Conducting Award (formerly the German Conducting Prize) and the German Choral Conducting Award, as well as the competitions for amateur musicians: theGerman Choir Competition and the German Orchestra Competition.

Promoting young musicians in the ensemblesof the German Music Council also includes performing on stage in front of an audience. The project leaders are happy to accept requests for engagements. The German Music Competition concert promotion program arranges approximately 200 concerts a year for concert organizers and concert series.

Music educators will find concepts and working materials for music lessons at the Podium Gegenwart's educational projects. Current developments in music policy and studies can be found in the "Music Education" section, as well as specialist articles on this topic at the German Music Information Center.
