Kollektives Träumen als multidisziplinäre Performance

Das Kölner Ensemble uBu entwickelt unkonventionelle Konzertperformances an den Reibungsflächen zwischen Musik, Tanz und anderen Kunstformen. Die Aufführung „Mutants in Music: Dreamteam“ am 25. und 26. April beim ORBIT Festival für aktuelles Musiktheater in Köln bildet den Abschluss der zweijährigen Förderung des Ensembles im Rahmen des Programms InSzene des Podium Gegenwart | Deutscher Musikrat.

Mit „Mutants in Music: Dreamteam“ erkundet das multidisziplinäre Ensemble Wege, um Träume in Musik und Tanz zusammenzubringen und erforscht dabei das Traumhafte, Poetische und Absurde des ultimativen Zusammenspiels: „Wenn wir keine Worte mehr finden für eine positive gemeinsame Zukunft, weil uns die schlechten Nachrichten die Sprache verschlagen – vielleicht müssen wir dann das Medium wechseln, in dem wir unsere Träume verhandeln?“ „Mutants in Music: Dreamteam“ ist eine vielschichtige Performance, die mit abwechslungsreicher Musik- und Bildsprache nach Meisterschaft im kollektiven Träumen sucht.

In einer öffentlich befüllbaren „Playlist of Dreams“ sammelt uBu seit Anfang März Musik, die mit Träumen verknüpft wird. Die Vielfalt dieser musikalischen Realitäten verwebt das Ensemble in der Konzertperformance zu kollektiven „Dreamscapes“ und „Dreamscores“. Für das ORBIT Festival wird das „Dreamteam“ um den tauben Musiker Matthias Ranner erweitert, der die künstlerische Utopie des Ensembles kommentiert und herausfordert. 

Im Rahmen der zweijährigen Förderung durch das Programm InSzene des Podium Gegenwart | Deutscher Musikrat nahm das Ensemble uBu an der Akademie des DMR teil und befasste sich beim Workshoptag von DMR und Ernst von Siemens Musikstiftung u.a. mit Audience Development, Konzertakquise und Konzertdesign. Unterstützt wurden außerdem künstlerische Entwicklungs- und Arbeitsphasen sowie die erfolgreiche Formulierung von Projektanträgen. Die Förderung der Öffentlichkeitsarbeit umfasste auch einen neuen Porträtfilm, den das Ensemble selbst gestalten konnte. Ein Supervisionsprozess nahm Arbeitsabläufe unter die Lupe. Dazu Projektleiter Olaf Wegener: „Die Schnittstelle zum Musiktheater, an der uBu agiert, stellt immer besondere Herausforderungen. So konnte im Rahmen der InSzene-Förderung u.a. die Ensembleorganisation optimiert werden. Gleichzeitig ist uBu ein hochkreatives Kollektiv, das künstlerische Ideen selbst musikalisch umsetzt. Auch diese zusätzlichen Anforderungen durften wir mit InSzene unterstützen. Die Einladung zum ORBIT Festival mit dem aktuellen Dreamteam-Projekt ist eine schöne Bestätigung der erfolgreichen Entwicklung des Ensembles.“

Musicians can sing or play in the ensembles of the German Music Council, the Federal Youth Orchestra, the Federal Jazz Orchestra and the Federal Youth Choir, and take part in competitions. With four other projects in the area of promotion, the German Music Council supports young, highly talented musicians, conductors, composers and interpreters of contemporary music as well as pop musicians on their way to a professional musical life and builds a bridge between musicians, organizers and the public. The German Music Council is the sponsor of the competitions for children and young people: Jugend musiziert and Jugend jazzt, the competitions for professional musicians: the German Music Competition, the German Conducting Award (formerly the German Conducting Prize) and the German Choral Conducting Award, as well as the competitions for amateur musicians: theGerman Choir Competition and the German Orchestra Competition.

The German Music Council (Deutscher Musikrat e. V.) is the mouthpiece and initiator of music policy issues for its members.

Promoting young musicians in the ensemblesof the German Music Council also includes performing on stage in front of an audience. The project leaders are happy to accept requests for engagements. The German Music Competition concert promotion program arranges approximately 200 concerts a year for concert organizers and concert series.

Music educators will find concepts and working materials for music lessons at the Podium Gegenwart's educational projects.
