Der Deutsche Musikrat veröffentlicht Dokumentarfilm 

zwei sich umarmende Personen

In wenigen Tagen ist Bundestagswahl. Für den Deutschen Musikrat ist gelebte Demokratie mehr als ein Wahltag – sie ist ein Prinzip, das sich in allen Projekten und Programmen der Projektgesellschaft widerspiegelt. Musik verbindet, stärkt den Zusammenhalt und lehrt uns, dass jede Stimme zählt – in der Musik wie in der Gesellschaft. Mit dem neuen Dokumentarfilm „Musik ist der Sound der Demokratie“ zeigt der Deutsche Musikrat am Beispiel seiner Jugendprojekte, wie Musik Menschen zusammenbringt und Brücken baut. 

In den vom Deutschen Musikrat getragenen Jugendensembles – dem Bundesjugendorchester, dem Bundesjugendchor und dem Bundesjazzorchester – erleben junge Talente, was es heißt, Teil eines Ganzen zu sein. In den Tourneen des zurückliegenden Jahres wurde dies erfahrbar: Ob in der Arbeitsphase des Bundesjugendorchesters mit Beethovens 9. Sinfonie, für die das Orchester erstmals mit dem Weltjugendchor zusammenarbeitete. Oder in der Tournee des Bundesjazzorchesters (Bujazzo) anlässlich der Euro2024, bei der die Musiker:innen in sechs Fanzonen Konzerte gaben und in direkten Austausch mit den Fußballfans kamen. Oder dem Konzertprogramm PAX des Bundesjugendchores, in dem sich die jungen Sängerinnen und Sänger mit aktuellen Themen wie „Krieg und Frieden“ künstlerisch auseinandersetzen. 

„Musik ist weit mehr als Noten und Rhythmen. Sie fördert Offenheit, Toleranz und den Austausch von Ideen. Jugendliche lernen durch gemeinsames Musizieren, was Zusammenarbeit bedeutet. Sie erfahren wie wichtig es ist, aufeinander zu hören, sich gegenseitig zu unterstützen und gemeinsam etwas Großes zu schaffen. Deshalb ist es unsere Aufgabe, dieser Kraft Raum zu geben. In unseren Projekten fördern wir Talente und ermöglichen ihnen, durch Musik zu wachsen. Wenn wir ihnen diese Chance bieten, können sie ihr Potenzial besser entfalten“, sagt Stefan Piendl, Geschäftsführer der Deutschen Musikrat gGmbH.

Musicians can sing or play in the ensembles of the German Music Council, the Federal Youth Orchestra, the Federal Jazz Orchestra and the Federal Youth Choir, and take part in competitions. With four other projects in the area of promotion, the German Music Council supports young, highly talented musicians, conductors, composers and interpreters of contemporary music as well as pop musicians on their way to a professional musical life and builds a bridge between musicians, organizers and the public. The German Music Council is the sponsor of the competitions for children and young people: Jugend musiziert and Jugend jazzt, the competitions for professional musicians: the German Music Competition, the German Conducting Award (formerly the German Conducting Prize) and the German Choral Conducting Award, as well as the competitions for amateur musicians: theGerman Choir Competition and the German Orchestra Competition.

Promoting young musicians in the ensemblesof the German Music Council also includes performing on stage in front of an audience. The project leaders are happy to accept requests for engagements. The German Music Competition concert promotion program arranges approximately 200 concerts a year for concert organizers and concert series.
