#HörenFühlenLieben – Folge 6: Musikwirtschaft

Weiter geht es mit den Einblicken in die Kapitel unserer Festschrift zum 70-jährigen Bestehen des Deutschen Musikrates, „Hören- Fühlen – Lieben“. Das sechste Kapitel darin kreist um die Rolle der Musikwirtschaft „zwischen Ökonomie und Verantwortung“. Im Auftakt-Gespräch tauschen sich Prof. Dieter Gorny und die Sängerin Balbina über Grundlegendes aus wie musikwirtschaftliche Infrastruktur und die Rolle von großen „Gatekeepern“ wie den Streaming-Plattformen, über die Herausforderung einer gerechten Verteilung der Erlöse und die Notwendigkeit, verschiedene Interessen dabei in einen guten Ausgleich zu bringen. Denn, wie Gorny es am Ende zusammenfasst: „Ohne die Künstlerinnen und Künstler gäbe es die Vielfalt der Systeme nicht. Deshalb müssen die Kreativen aus politischer, aber auch aus ökonomischer Klugheit miteinbezogen werden. Die Menschen sind an Musik interessiert, die Menschen zahlen für Musik, sie ist immer noch eines der zentralen künstlerisch-kulturellen Güter. Deshalb appelliere ich an die Politik: Schützt die Musik, es ist eure Aufgabe!“

Ester Petri skizziert anschließend am Beispiel des Carus-Verlags den sich wandelnden Markt der Musikverlage, die neben wirtschaftlichen Interessen auch gesellschaftliche Aufgaben verfolgen. Sie vermögen, dem Musikleben neue Impulse zu geben und zugleich auch mit ihrer Arbeit die kulturelle Praxis, die Bildung und den Erhalte von kulturellem Erbe zu unterstützen. Inwiefern die Förderung von Kunst und Kultur sowohl für gemeinnützige Institutionen wie auch für kommerziell Arbeitende Unternehmen eine „Win-Win-Win“-Situation sein kann, erläutert Helmut Seidenbusch abschließend in seinem Beitrag zum kulturellen Engagement von Unternehmen und Stiftungen.

Musicians can sing or play in the ensembles of the German Music Council, the Federal Youth Orchestra, the Federal Jazz Orchestra and the Federal Youth Choir, and take part in competitions. With four other projects in the area of promotion, the German Music Council supports young, highly talented musicians, conductors, composers and interpreters of contemporary music as well as pop musicians on their way to a professional musical life and builds a bridge between musicians, organizers and the public. Promoting young musicians in the ensemblesof the German Music Council also includes performing on stage in front of an audience. The project leaders are happy to accept requests for engagements. The German Music Competition concert promotion program arranges approximately 200 concerts a year for concert organizers and concert series.

Music educators will find concepts and working materials for music lessons at the Podium Gegenwart's educational projects. Current developments in music policy and studies can be found in the "Music Education" section, as well as specialist articles on this topic at the German Music Information Center.
